thatはしばしば省略されます．

「英語例文」
My guess is that you'll encounter her again there.「私は、あなたが再び彼女に出くわすだろうと思う。」

「意味」ちょっと一休みしましょう。一息つきましょう。

※今日の英語，breathは「息」で，breatherは「息抜き」，「一休み」のことです．このbreatherを使った面白い言葉としてはmouth-breatherというのがあって，これは「口で息をする人」なのですが，俗語で「あほ」，「愚か者」という意味でも使います．口を開けて息をしていると，アホっぽく見えるということですね．

「英語例文」
Let's take a breather and talk about this again.「ちょっと一休みして，これについてもう一度話しましょう。」

We need to strike the right balance between A and B.

「意味」私達はAとBの間で適切なバランスをとる必要がある。

※今日の英語，strike a balanceで「うまく両立させる」という意味です．

主語やneed toの部分は他にかえて使うことができます．

「英会話例文」
We need to strike the right balance between attack and defense.「私たちは攻撃と防御の間で適切なバランスをとる必要がある。」

「意味」まだ終わったとはいえない。結果は最後まで分からない。

※今日は英語，直訳では「太った女性が歌うまで，オペラは終わらない」ということですが，スポーツ競技などのイベントで，まだ終わっていない状況で結果を決めつけてはいけない，という意味で使います．

以下のように，ain'tの代わりにisn'tを使ったり，untilの代わりにtillを使ったりもします．

The opera isn't over until the fat lady sings.
It isn't over until the fat lady sings.

The opera ain't over till the fat lady sings.

It ain't over till the fat lady sings.

ain'tはとても砕けた言葉です．

「英会話例文」
